This is a practice of light is better and dark is bad is based on a legacy from slavery, that is still deeply rooted in society and black families. In the video I project the stereotype of "Black Face", were each subject  applies non toxic washable paint to their face and hair. The darker skin subjects applies white paint to their faces,  which demonstrates and represents them not being white enough or light enough. The lighter skin subjects apply black paint to their faces, to justify how they are not black enough to fit in their community and how they may undergo different treatment  trying to fit in the whites. These different emotions are represented across each subjects face illustrating happiness, anger, and sadness. This video also correspond to the traits such as hair, skin color, and facial features.
